Le Piane - Cantina
At the beginning of the 1990s the Boca wine region was almost completely forgotten.
Swiss Christoph Künzli discovered the hidden potential of the area, seized the opportunity and started a long term revival project. Several plots of forest were acquired and replanted with Nebbiolo and Vespolina vines. Nowadays old and new vineyards add up to a total of 9 hectares. The Le Piane team grows the vines, harvests the grapes, makes the wine and markets it.
The combination of the porphyric soil and the mild climate of the Piedmont Lower Alps is a lucky chance for the region of BOCA DOC.
Our quality stems from a rigorous selection of the grapes during the harvest. We work in a natural way in order to reflect the great potential of this historical wine growing area. Our wines show decisive character. They can age gracefully, they are both powerful and complex and they are endowed with elegance and finesse.
