Walking along the Miners’ Trail accompanied by a hiking guide, you will discover interesting facts about the area and the Guia Gold Mine, which you will visit in the hamlet of Fornarelli. After a short walk of about 5 minutes, you will reach the Antica Casa Walser museum in the hamlet of Borca. Here, adults will take a journey back in time, discovering the secrets of the Walser community, an ancient Alpine population that settled in Macugnaga starting from the 1200s. Meanwhile, children will have fun taking part in a fantastic creative workshop, where they will create their own backwards-footed gnomes, the Gotwiarghini: small and mischievous forest goblins of Walser tradition who wander through the heart of Macugnaga with their lanterns!
