Valgrande National Park

valgrande

This national park situated between the Val d’Ossola, the Val Vigezzo and Lake Maggiore measures 15,000 hectars and is noted as the largest integrated natural wild reserve in Italy; here nature has been preserved in all its primal wildness.

The National Park is a protected natural area established in 1992 to preserve the largest wild area in the Alps and in Italy.
It is a popular destination for nature and trekking lovers due to its large territorial extension without human settlements, to the characteristics of the landscapes and to the panorama offered by the Lepontine Alps.
