Self-Guided Tour of Isola Bella and Isola dei Pescatori
Your journey begins and ends in Piazza Marconi, Stresa, where you will board a CMA motorboat and set off across the lake, with your first destination being Isola Bella.
Once a simple rocky outcrop in the 17th century, Isola Bella was transformed by the Borromeo family into a place of extraordinary beauty, where art, history, and elegance blend harmoniously. A captivating itinerary awaits you, starting with a visit to the magnificent Baroque palace and continuing through the stunning Italian-style gardens, arranged over ten terraced levels rising 37 metres above the lake, offering breathtaking and picturesque views.
Estimated duration of the visit to Isola Bella Palace and Gardens: approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
You will then continue by boat to Isola dei Pescatori, the most authentic and picturesque island of the archipelago. Here, you can wander through its charming narrow lanes, lined with traditional multi-storey houses featuring long balconies that were once used for drying fish. The islands warm and lively atmosphere still reflects the traditions of a village deeply connected to the lake and its fishing heritage.
To make the evening even more memorable, a sumptuous gourmet candlelit dinner awaits you at Belvedere Restaurant. The perfect way to end your experience before boarding the motorboat for your return journey to Stresa.

Know Before You Go
When making your reservation, please provide the names of all adults and only those children for whom a fee is payable.
Children under 6 years of age can join the activity free of charge. However, any meal consumed by the child at Belvedere Restaurant must be paid for directly at the restaurant.
For children aged 6 to 15 inclusive, the cost is Euro 103.00 per person.
For adults, the cost is Euro 120.00 per person.
You will receive your island admission tickets, as well as the vouchers for the motorboats and the restaurant, on the day before the activity.
CMA motorboats operate throughout the day every 30 minutes, from 9:15 am to 5:45 pm. The recommended departure times from Stresa are 3:15 pm or 3:45 pm.
The itinerary begins with a visit to Isola Bella, followed by a visit to Isola dei Pescatori and dinner at Belvedere Restaurant. Upon arrival, simply present your voucher to CMA staff to receive your motorboat tickets at no additional cost. The CMA booth is located on the lakefront across from the La Palma Hotel.
2026 Season Opening Hours of Isola Bella Palace and Gardens
From 12 March to 24 October
Daily from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm (last admission)
Palace closes at 5:30 pm
Gardens close at 6:00 pm
From 25 October to 8 November
Daily from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (last admission)

If you are travelling with children under the age of 6, please remember to collect their complimentary admission ticket at the Isola Bella ticket office.
Evening motorboats from Isola Bella to Isola dei Pescatori depart at 7:05 pm and 7:35 pm from the pier in front of Ristolounge Elvezia.
Dinner at Belvedere Restaurant is scheduled between 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Return motorboats from Isola dei Pescatori to Stresa depart at 9:30 pm, 10:00 pm, 10:30 pm, and 11:00 pm.
