DAY ONE
Individual arrival in the morning at Santa Maria Maggiore in the Vigezzo Valley (option to take the Vigezzina panoramic train) at the Hotel Miramonti. In the early afternoon, you’ll meet your guide for a guided tour of the historic centre of this Vigezzo town, with its stately villas, painted walls, the Church of Santa Maria Assunta and the Chimney Sweep Museum. On your return from the tour, you can treat yourself to a lovely herbal tea from the Erba Bona Association and some sweet treats, before enjoying a traditional dinner at the hotel featuring local specialities and produce.
DAY TWO
Today, travelling in a private minibus, you’ll head to Val Loana, nestled amongst the mountains of the Val Grande National Park. Accompanied by your guide, you’ll go on a birdwatching excursion to spot birds and make other nature observations before enjoying a delicious lunch at a farmhouse restaurant.
On the way back, you’ll stop in the village of Malesco to explore the village and visit the Soapstone Museum to learn more about the history and geology of the area, before returning to the hotel, where, after a bit of relaxation and a nice cup of herbal tea, a gourmet dinner featuring local specialities awaits you.
DAY THREE
Today, you’ll travel by minibus with your guide to the Pian di Sali area, a WWF Nature Reserve. This is a wetland where you’ll go for a walk, making further nature observations and discovering the characteristics of this unique habitat before heading down to Santa Maria Maggiore. Before setting off again, you can enjoy a light lunch at the hotel’s bistro.
