The Dulzago Abbey

“It was a dark and stormy night….” and the fairytale begins when you get under the arch standing at the entrance of the Dulzago Abbey. Take a look at the countryard surrounding the hamlet, you will enter a new temporal dimension and find yourself carried away in the deep Middle Age, when monks founded this abbey in the country between Agogna and Ticino rivers, and started to live here, praying and working according to the Augustinian Rule.

You can stroll around the courtyard seeing yourself as a ancient knight on his way to his castle or as a pilgrim roaming the county searching for salvation. But, anyway, for a deep identification, don’t forget to taste the local agri-foods and dishes, the same that monks started to produce centuries ago and still delicious!
