Val Pogallo and Sutermeister

Val Pogallo is one of the most popular areas of Val Grande National Park, for this reason it is defined as the “heart” of the Park. It can be reached via classic routes that show historical and naturalistic aspects, but there are also more challenging routes for experts where the paths have almost disappeared.

This area holds many traces of the timber activity of Karl Sutermeister, a Swiss engineer who lived and worked near Lake Maggiore.
