A scenic route between Lake Maggiore and the Valgrande National Park through beech forests and sunny ridges.
L’Alto Verbano is made up of valleys and hills that rise ever higher, reaching as far as the Valgrande.
There is a line of equilibrium between the world of woods and hills reflected in the waters of the lake and the world of rocks, peaks and wilderness of the Valgrande.
This imaginary line is the one that passes through the ridges of Mount Todum, Mount Pernice, through Piancavallo to the mythical Pizzo Marona.
Pizzo Pernice is surely the most accessible point to admire the best panorama between the Valgrande and Lake Maggiore and beyond, the 4000-metre peaks of the western Alps and the vastness of the Po valley as far as Liguria.
