DAY 2: Lake Maggiore: luxury private experience
Full day private guided tour to Isola Bella, Isola Pescatori and Santa Caterina del Sasso. Private motorboat.
The excursion ends with a romantic sunset cruise and an excellent aperitif on board: italian sparkling wine and gourmet finger food together with breathtaking landscape will give you longlasting memories.
The day can also end with a dinner in a romantic restaurant on one of the islands or in a Michelin starred restaurant on Mergozzo lake.
DAY 3: Orta Lake and wine cellar
Meeting with the dedicated guide and arrival in Orta San Giulio with private transfer.
Visit to Sacro Monte, located on a hill above the village and dedicated to St Francis of Assisi. You than reach Orta city centre and in the afternoon by private motorboat the Island of San Giulio. The day continues to Ghemme for a visit to a wine cellar on the Novara hills.
A tasting of the excellent wines and typical local products will end the day.
For the evening we suggest a typical agriturismo in the novarese land or special dinner with view on the lake’s shore.

DAY 2: Bike tour and Borromean islands
Half-day guided bike tour in the Toce River Reserve where you can relax in nature and ride in peace. The return to Stresa passes through Lake Mergozzo; here you can find the tradition of using stone and the history of the craftsmen who knew how to exploit it in the ancient houses and in the museum.
In the afternoon guided excursion to the Borromean Islands.
Be enchanted by the charm of Isola Bella and Isola dei Pescatori .

DAY 3: Trekking in Ossola Valleys, the wonderful Devero Valley
A day dedicated to the mountains in one of the most beautiful Ossola valleys. Departure with dedicated guide by private bus to the Devero Valley.
Guided panoramic route through the Veglia and Devero Nature Park, passing through the Devero Plain and the village of Crampiolo, to reach the beautiful Devero Lake and the Codelago dam.
Lunch in a typical mountain restaurant.
Last evening dinner can be organized in hotel or if you are still fit in an elegant restaurant on the lake’s shore

Panoramic tour on the shores of Lago Maggiore via Locarno; first stop in the swiss town for a walk through the centre, and on to Lugano; the old town of Lugano with the famous shopping street Via Nassa, and the church of Santa Maria degli Angioli. The tour goes on towards Lake Como, in the Lombard silk metropolis. Time at leisure to visit the historic centre with its many beautiful alleys and squares, the elegant shops, including silk shops, and, above all, Como Cathedral. Return to the hotel via the southern part of Lake Maggiore.

The nature itinerary allows you to discover the Sesia Valgrande Geopark and Biosphere Reserve, which also involves the provinces of Verbania, Novara and Varese, following the course of the Ticino river.
OUR 3 SACRED MOUNTS
These architectural complexes, distributed along the slopes of a hill, induce visitors to follow a physical and spiritual path, a pilgrimage through a symbolic itinerary of monumental stations and chapels that make the natural space sacred.
We organise guided tours with experts of the region’s artistic and cultural heritage, with quality breaks. Tastings of indigenous wines and typical local products.

ORTA SACRED MOUNT
Twenty chapels immersed in nature illustrate with sculptures and paintings episodes from the life of st. Francis beautiful viewpoint over Lake Orta.

GHIFFA SACRED MOUNT
Overlooking one of the most evocative panoramas of Lake Maggiore, the smallest of the Piedmontese Sacred Mountains includes three chapels dedicated to the Incoronata, St John the Baptist and Abraham, the sanctuary and the 18th-century portico of the Via Crucis.

Surrounded by the Ossola Alps and typical villages with slopes still cultivated with ancient vines, a short distance from Switzerland, Sacro Monte “Calvario” was commissioned in 1656 by the Capuchin fathers to reproduce the passion and death of Christ in life-size images.

The Lagoni di Mercurago Nature Park is a protected area (Protected Areas of Ticino and Lake Maggiore) and the site is home to one of the first pile dwellings discovered in Europe in the mid-19th century and the first scientifically studied in Italy

Consorzio MAGGIORE is a travel and tourism association aimed at the promotion of the tourist destination: Lake Maggiore – Lake Orta – Lake Mergozzo, Ossola Valleys and Province of Novara.
The goal of the consortium MAGGIORE is to become the point of reference for promotional and sales activities in the Northern Piedmont tourist destination surrounding Lake Maggiore.
Federalberghi VCO, the official local accommodation association, leaded
the destination international promotional strategy since 2017.
The next steps are the Consortium official registration by the Region of Piedmont, the management of a cooperation network with other Italian and international tourist areas, as well as the participation both in Interreg and pan-European EU projects.
The sales portal visit-lakemaggiore.com is a showcase and a marketing tool for hotels and touristic experiences (boat tours, guided tours, tickets for events and museums, e-bike rental services, restaurants and much more). These tourist offers are also available on the website as packages organised by local tour operators or by our sales department.
