Verrosso 2444m. is a mountain with soft features that rises on the watershed between the upper Bognanco valley and the Vaira valley in Switzerland.
It can be reached from several directions, the one we will take is along the eastern crest that starts directly from San Bernardo, where we will leave the car, dividing the plains of Monscera from the basin of Oriaccia, always beautiful places in this valley known in the past for its thermal springs still bubbling at the bottom of the valley.
The itinerary first runs through a large fir forest with specimens that are also hundreds of years old, and then, as we gain altitude, enters increasingly twisted larch woods up to the summit plateaus, totally devoid of vegetation.
The summit has a small tower with a book inside where we mark our passage.
The descent to Lake Ragozza is over some stony ground that will immediately give way to pastures and alpine meadows.
