“Via delle Genti” is a perfect itinerary for those who are looking for a panoramic trekking on lake Maggiore! The track develops on the hills of the lake, giving an incredible view and landscape to its walkers!

“Via delle Genti” was once an important commercial road between Italy and Switzerland, that lead until Gottard Pass.

Starting from Cannero Riviera, famous as “Citrus Village” for its oranges and lemons plants that grow here thanks to the particular microclimate and the complete sun exposure, the path proceeds through chestnut woods, terraced gardens and ancient hamlets until Carmine Superiore Church, dated back to 1300.

The path ends in Cannobio, a particular village rewarded with the Blue and Orange Flag by Touring Club Italiano. You certainly can’t miss the historical centre and the ancient village area with San Vittore Church and SS Pietà Sanctuary.
