European Charter for Sustainable Tourism - ECST
Sustainable Tourism at Lake Maggiore
Do you know that Consorzio Maggiore is part of the ECST, the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism?
The aim of the ECST is to favor a sustainable development of tourism in protected areas and natural parks, giving particular attention to planet’s needs, local communities and local businesses.
Valgrande National Park and the autorithy of the protected areas of Ossola’s Valleys obtained in 2013 the certification at the European parliament and Valgrande Park in, 2018, also obtained the renewal of the first phase of ECST.
The park find itself, at the moment, in the so called II phase of the ECST, so it’s trying to establish, with the economic operators of tourism, valuable partnerships by certifying the opertors with clear, written and monitorable works.
We are taking concrete actions with the Park to make tourists discover the natural and cultural heritage of Valgrande National Park. But, how do we do that practically? By proposing “touristic packages” that includes overnight stays in the park and sustainable experiences, always respecting the planet and sustainable mobility.
