The Nativity Scenes on the Water of Crodo
A unique event in Italy, from 2 December to 7 January the Nativity displays return for the 9th edition of Nativity Scenes on the Water in Crodo.
A unique event, strongly linked to the most authentic roots of Christmas, to its deepest message: sixty-six cribs created by a valiant team of volunteers, hundreds of women and men at work for weeks to create artistic compositions that best represent the Nativity, between tradition and experimentation, with creative languages rich in suggestion.
And all the cribs will have water as their common denominator. In this Alpine land, where water is a very important element, both for the hydroelectric industry and for the beverage industry – it was here that the famous “blond” soft drink was born, which carries Crodo’s name throughout the world – streams, fountains and ancient wash-houses become a natural setting that can enhance and render inimitable the cribs of the Antigorio Valley village and its small, enchanting hamlets.
The Ossola Protected Areas Management Authority organises guided tours with accompaniment to discover the villages and installations, half-day or full-day itineraries, with minibuses and the accompaniment of Park Guides.
